Totally recommend Lebos both for accommodation and their cycling tour. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is clean and has a lovely outdoor garden area for meals. The cycling tour is incredible - really informative, safe and dispels any scaremongering myths you may have heard about Soweto. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.
I had one day and night in Johannesburg and decided to stay at Lebo's and do the 4 hour cycle tour. It was a fabulous decision - Soweto was fascinating, fun and friendly as was the cycle tour. Both the backpackers and tour are highly recommended.
This hostel is very special because of the location in the heart of Soweto and the activities which are organised by the hostel (we did a 4 hours bicycle tour) The friendly staff does everything to feel comfortable. We stayed in a family room 1 min. walk from the hostel. The hostel has a very nice place to meet other guests. The food is very good. We liked very much the positive vibes.
Moreover this is a fair-trade accommodation.
I stayed at Lebo's for 4 nights while meeting friends everyday in Naledi. It is safe, clean, and hospitable, and the option of eating with all guests or using the self-sufficient kitchen makes the place comfortable for the perfect balance between good company and quiet retreat. The self-sufficient area has thatched roof construction, so it is like a traditional paradise in the heart of urban cool; in the morning you can hear all kinds of birds and animals, and there are nice trees and succulents planted there. Everybody who works at the facility is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and the neighborhood is also very friendly.
My stay was okay, good, its a nice place. All the facilities that we needed was there. The only problem was that we did not know that we had to share with males and we were all females but it was alright.

Was great to be able to explore a place with such historic relevance for South Africa. The Mandela house, the Hector Pieterson museum, etc were all fascinating and the variety of crafts and restaurants were great. Particularly enjoyed the bike tour done on the first day which gave us both a visual and historic background to the area.
