Completely redesigned and renovated in 2016 THE GREY Boutique Hotel is a cool hotel for urban people. The trendy space is located in beautifully intimate 19th century heritage houses with various courtyards at its center. THE GREY is surrounded by the vibrant streets of de Waterkant, one of the most vivid areas in Cape Town - walking distance to V&A Waterfront and nightlife areas. THE GREY experience includes a rooftop bar with a pool – overlooking the astonishing Table Mountain, restaurant SHIO run by Cheyne Morrisby, THE PIANO BAR with everyday life-music and Lucky Boa a Japanese Ramen Street Restaurant. Be a part of us.
In Room Facilities:
Our 13 rooms are small but cozy, funky but comfortable, and will accommodate you with everything you need in order to enjoy a relaxing stay:
+ four poster beds with luxury linen
+ exquisite cosmetics from top local brand Charlotte Rhys
+ free WIFI-connectivity throughout the entire hotel
+ LED flatscreen TVs
+ minibar with all the little things you need.
Two of the rooms have a private sun terrace facing the majestic Table Mountain.
We have a simple policy: no flat-irons, no hotel slippers, no bell boys or other tired old hotel clichés. Instead you will enjoy the very best of everything you desire.
De Waterkant is located right underneath Table Mountain. It is one of Cape Towns' most vibrant and upcoming districts.
At our rooftop bar SKYBAR guests can relax by the pool, sip our unique house cocktails or experience small tapas-style dishes from the restaurant SHIO, while overlooking Table Mountain and sapphire blue Atlantic. The SKYBAR is perfect for lazing in the sun, enjoying a sundowner or experiencing Cape Town’s vibrant nightlife after sunset.
In the famous PIANO BAR you can spend your evenings listening to live jazz and blues concerts while enjoying the infamous fresh basil cocktails and mini burgers.
We are also introducing a new Japanese restaurant SHIO into our experience of The Grey. Executive Chef Cheyne Morrisby, one of Cape Town’s most prominent and successful chef’s, who previously managed to set a new standard for fine dining with his restaurant CHEYNE’s in Hout Bay, will be providing patrons with unique and innovative Japanese fusion dishes, which will soon be the talk of the town.
The hotels' various units function in perfect harmony to create a beautifully designed and cool place that caters to guests’ every need.
