Welcome to Mar Azul 27A!

Please be advised that you will need a 4x4 vehicle to gain access to the property due to the sandy roads.

Mar Azul 27A is a 3 bedroom cottage situated on the highest point of Mar Azul Estate in Ponta Malongane. This cottage has breathtaking sea views.

Mar Azul 27A consists of 4 units, all fully air-conditioned. 3 of the units are en suite bedrooms, each with its own private outside shower, with hot running water. Each unit has 1 queen-size bed, all linen is supplied. There is 1 mini bar fridge in each bedroom. Each en suite bedroom has its own wrap-around wooden verandah with sea views to die for. The en suite bathrooms have a bath, toilet, and hand basin. 2 extra mattresses can be arranged, so the house can sleep a total of 6 adults and 2 kids under the age of 12.

The 4th unit is the lounge, kitchen, and living area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and has a microwave, electric oven, 4 plated gas stove, dishwasher, and all the crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, etc required for self-catering. The lounge area has couches and a coffee table. The living area is air-conditioned.

The wooden deck outside the lounge area has sun tanning beds with mattresses, and a gas braai.
Gas Braai Note: The gas braai is only used for gas braai purposes, in the event that it is used for any other means i.e; charcoal braai or log fire, then the guests will be charged for a replacement unit.

The unit runs off borehole water, so there will be a smell and discolor in the water at times.

This unit does have a large amount of stairs (approximately 190) from car park to the unit.

The storeroom has a chest freezer as well as a normal size fridge, washing machine, and tumble dryer.

There are no Tv's or Wifi.

The units also do not have mosquito nets - therefore guests are to bring along their own mosquito repellent.

Please take note that if you are booked in on Mar Azul Estate and have a boat, jet ski, or quad bike, you can park 1 of 2 places, see below:
Park at the security gate (bottom of the hill) R300 a day
Park at the top of the hill (communal parking) - free
If you decide to park at the security gate then ensure that you have enough cash to pay for the parking on your departure date.

Important Information:
Please be advised that you will need a 4x4 vehicle to gain access to the property due to the sandy roads.

House Rules
To try and keep everyone safe and happy, please take note of some of our important House Rules:

The speed limit in the resort is 10km/hr.
Please respect the 10:30 pm noise restriction - Loud music is not much fun when you are not at the party.
No fireworks are allowed.. Nearly all of our houses are made of wood and this could go horribly wrong.
No children under the age of 18 are allowed to ride a quad bike. (Please note that this is Mozambiquean law, not our rules). No littering. We know this sounds really obvious, but you would be amazed. And, we would really appreciate it if you removed two pieces of rubbish from the beach each time you go.
No unattended open fires. Yip, we already said it, the houses are made of wood and we don't want to light up the sky.
There is a fish cleaning/gutting station near security. Please use this area so we can contain the smell and keep it clean so you don't get a fly in your drink.
For security reasons, all casual labour must be sourced via the Mar Azul Manager. No access card, no entry.
Guests must advise Security in advance of any visitors. If their name is not at Security, they will not be allowed access.
Abuse of the Security staff will absolutely not be tolerated. They are here to look after us, so please treat them with respect.

Please note that due to the expenses and logistics of getting items over the border and keeping the unit perfectly stocked all the time is sometimes difficult and challenging.

We therefore kindly request / advise the guests should there be any items that one cannot do without for the duration of their stay, the guest may bring these items along with pleasure (i.e; coffee plunger / specific knives etc).

WHAT TO BRING:
Stove and oven cleaner
Dishwasher pills / dishwasher powder / Dish washing liquid
Washing powder for washing machine

Toilet paper
Black Rubbish Bags
Handy Andy

STAFF FEE:
Jose is the staff member who manages the unit.
His working hours are from 7:30am – 4pm, you will need to instruct him as to what time you will require him daily.
IT IS MANDATORY THAT HE CHECKS IN EVERYDAY AND CLEANS THE KITCHEN.

COMPULSORY FEE:
Jose must be paid a daily fee of R50 per day (from day of arrival, up until and including day of departure), this money must be paid in cash by guest directly to Jose.

OPTIONAL FEE:

Great place to visit, heading back in a couple of months. Bars/restaurants - 360, Ninho's, Drunken Clam, Sunset shack were our favourites and have great staff.

360 bar was really nice, as the name suggests the view was incredible. Further towards Ponta du Ora is die Malboerbar. This was probably the best bar we went to in terms of prices, food and the vibe.

We enjoyed nature, quietness, being without TV, playing board games, driving around in sandy roads to explore, watching the whales from our deck, visit the local little shops.

Okay. 3 out of 5
