Located 6km outside Colesberg, Van Zylsvlei is an oasis in the beautiful Karoo. You can expect a warm and hearty welcome when you arrive at this rustic, farm-house styled accommodation. Accommodation is offered in a choice of rondavels, family rooms, campsites and we are pet friendly!
Our facilities include an outdoor pool, a bar, braai facilities and a shared lounge area with complimentary WiFi. But we warned, just like the pace, the internet is slow in the Karoo.
We offer optional dinner from an à la carte menu (you have to try the Karoo lamb!) and a full English breakfast every morning.
You’re on a farm - it’s always clean, but don’t expect anything too fancy. Relax, grab a drink and enjoy the Karoo sunset.
Please Note: Only 12 of our rooms come with air-con, however we do supply fans and heaters for every other room. Please include a specific request in your booking, if you would like a room with air conditioning.
The property is situated on a farm with big gardens and open spaces. Our facilities include an outdoor pool, a bar, braai facilities and a shared lounge area with complimentary WiFi. We also have an on-site restaurant where we offer optional dinner and a full English breakfast every morning.

Colesberg the town has really gone down, rubbish everywhere, dirty and dusty. However as we stayed in the wonderful lodge outside of the town, we will overnight again in the area, as it is in the middle of Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Friendly people and just the right distance from Gauteng to take a break.
Spectacular view of animals and the mountains.
The roads are in great condition, we did not go into the town.
Just travelling through ....
The local pub....Horses and Mill.
Game drive and scenery!
