The owners of Scarborough Nature Lodge, which hosts Treetops, have done our best to create unique spaces, where our dream is for this magical piece of heaven to be a refuge for our guests, a place to set sail, walk on the Pristine beach, feel the coolness of the ocean beneath your feet, sit round a camp fire and enjoy the night sky with its abundance of stars, and then to fall asleep to the sound of the Ocean, awake to the birds singing , and after your stay to feel rejuvenated and relaxed and create unforgettable memories.
If you can, try and picture a massive 102 square meter deck that has been
built on the mountain side, between the branches of a majestic 30 year old Cape Ash Tree, a deck with two cabins facing out to a panoramic view of a turquoise ocean below.
Tree Tops cabins were designed by Aaron Corr, who was born and grew up in this awesome place we call Scarborough, and built for free-spirited nature lovers, kite boarders and windsurfers, in fact for all the adventurous at heart wanting to live in the simplicity of nature. You can literally chill on your double bed and watch the swell turn to a pumping point break or the wind reach the perfect speed and direction - then head out to surf or explore paradise.
Tree Tops offers you the best of all worlds, the feeling of being close and intimate with nature between the shaded branches of the old Cape Ash tree towering above you and panoramic sea views.
Relax under the fully waterproof tent stretched between the cabins, come rain or shine. A fully equipped semi wild kitchen is situated between and shared by the two cabins. There’s place to keep your beers and juices ice cold and to cook up a proper breakfast, lunch or supper. The fire pit at sunset is the bomb – braai (barbecue), interesting, like-minded people who quickly become friends – the simplicity of life at its best. Bonus if there’s a full moon!
The outdoor bed, has become a firm favorite with guests, who just take in the beauty of the area, or pick up a book from our in house library, or connect with family using the free in house wifi.
Scarborough is a secluded seaside village on the tip of the Cape Peninsula that has been designated a Conservation Village. We adjoin Cape Point Nature Reserve, which is part of Table Mountain National Park, soon to be proclaimed a world heritage site.
There are a plethora of hiking trails on our doorstep, please ask us about our in-house hike leaders and adventure guides who through their knowledge of the area, fauna and flora will turn your hike into a life-experience. Nothing beats a evening walk on the beach at sunset or discovering the magical of the inter-tidal zone at low tide.
In fact, feel free to talk to us about any outdoor adventure or activity. This is where we, friends and family live and we would like nothing more than to be part of your adventure – it’s what we enjoy and the reason we choose to live in Scarborough.
So, if you’re looking for a secluded haven tucked away between the magnificence of unspoilt beaches, the nature of the Cape Fynbos Kingdom and adventure there is simply no better choice than Scarborough Nature lodge and Treetops cabins.

The house is amazing, there is a beautiful view on the sea. It s very close from the beach and the restaurants of Scarborough. Janis has been a perfect host.
We were looking for a connection with nature and that is exactly what you get if you stay at the Treetop Cabins. We booked both cabins and really enjoyed it. Both cabins were very clean, loads of towels, very classy touches, lots of plants and good lights. Very thoughtful reading chairs on the stoeps outside both cabins. The kitchen is based between the cabins, well equipped and really nice experience to be so part of nature. Every morning a Zinmbabwean/Malawian guy came to clean our kitchen - he was super friendly. Janis (host) also checked in every day to see if me and the boys were doing ok. We enjoyed the easy walk to the local pub/coffee shop and we had a daily swim in the refreshing atlantic. Highly recommend if you enjoy a natural, organic environment with friendly, real people. We will be back!
