A stunning, pristine Nature Reserve of 550 hectares wedged into, but fenced out of, the much bigger Selati Nature Reserve surrounding it. We aim to offer our guests a unique and truly immersive nature experience without the usual risks, restrictions, and often exorbitant cost implications that usually underlies most Big Five related safari outings in a similar environment.
We can accommodate up to 83 guests in Russet Willow Ridge Hut Camp, which is currently the only public camp on the Reserve. Sip a sundowner on the view tower and relax while the kids have fun in the playroom.
We offer a variety of fun, nature related activities on the Reserve, such as self guided walks, guided bush walks, mountain biking, guided game drives, interactive bushcraft sessions, sleep-outs under the stars, and more....
In line with our conservation policies, and our commitment towards a cleaner environment and healthier planet, we went fully off-grid on the Reserve since 2012. We rely on gas-operated geysers, fridges and stoves, and we employ a combination of solar power and battery operated light units to meet our lighting requirements.

The little town of Gravelotte, in the bushveld region of Limpopo, lies roughly half way between Tzaneen and Phalaborwa, in the Valley of the Olifants. It is likely that the town was named after Gravelotte Village in Lorraine, France, which was the scene of a famous battle between the Germans and the French in 1870, known as the battle of Gravelotte. The town was established in 1916, and owes it's existence to some mining activity that took place in the area over the years. The oldest emerald deposits on earth can be found in this area, and it is also the worlds largest producer of antimony. The ghost town of Leydsdorp, 10km from Gravelotte, bears evidence of also a gold rush to this area in 1888.

Morokologa is glamping at its finest. Being off grid means the stars shine brightly and the sounds of nature are intensified. The units are well kitted for an easy self-catering stay, including gas fridge to keep your items fresh. The rooms are comfortable with huge cupboards and lots of storage space. Just be aware that there is no electricity on the farm, so a power bank is a must!
The owners JJ & Natalie went all out for my family after a bitter stay at another establishment a night before. They allowed us to check in before the normal 14h00 check in time. Had fire wood and lighters provided at no extra cost. JJ Offered my family free game ride. High five to JJ & Natalie you made our stay extra comfortable. Will call again.
Thank you for hosting us and making our stay memorable and homely. We really learned a lot from nature. Thanks for the game drive. Warm welcome you really made our Christmas special. Very peaceful place.
My stay at the Morokologa Nature Reserve was excellent and memorable. Peaceful and far from the madding crowd. It is a great place for couples who would want to bond and rekindle their love. I will always go back for anniversary with my partner.
Great get away in the nature. Love the early morning bush walks and the sunset from the lapa.

Hoedspruit Reviews
Beautiful and Clean, pity a place like Mali Mali can upset a persons Holiday... an event that was meant to be legendary! Mali Mali is not as per there website... they manipulate the internet!
The nature.
Morokologa game reserve, we spend our Christmas at the camp and we had a beautiful game drive and morning walks with my grandmother. Played games and reconnected as a family.
Most of Gold cabins- the weather - the sound of the birds-
Since we have family and old colleagues in Hoedspruit we enjoy everything. Love going to Hoedspruit for a weekend break away.
The quietness.
It’s a beautiful town which is easily accessible and has all the convenient shopping around the lodges nearby and one is able to do various activities around the area.
Privacy!
The town is very small yet beautiful and neat. It has lots of tourist attractions and good place to visit, just to unwind!
Endangered Species Centre.
