Comments
When you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comment form, your IP address and your browser user agent string, to help with spam detection. Your name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is not published.
Gravatar
An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you use it, so your profile picture can appear next to your comment. Gravatar is run by Automattic, and its privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
Cookies
If you leave a comment you can choose to save your name, email and website in cookies, so you do not have to type them again. These cookies last for one year. If you log in, WordPress sets cookies to keep you logged in.
Embedded content and fonts
Articles may include content embedded from other websites, such as videos. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, and that website may collect data about you. Our pages load the Inter font from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
How long we keep data
Comments and their metadata are kept so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically.
Your rights
