min R max RThe little farming town of Bronkhorstspruit may not be one you’re familiar with, but this Northern Gauteng rural enclave is history laden and incredibly beautiful. Its aesthetic appeal is so lovely that once travellers have encountered it, they often return for more visits. Approximately 50km east of the South African capital city of Pretoria, Bronkhorstspruit forms a farming community triangle with Bapsfontein and Rayton.
Initially, Bronkhorstspruit was used as an important railway station between the borders of the now Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces, and was also the scene of an epic historical showdown; one of the first serious clashes of the First Boer War is said to have taken place in close proximity to this little farming town.
