Whether you want to get away from the city for a few days or are visiting from not too far away, you will love the beautiful, tranquil surroundings of Blommekloof Cottages. Situated in a small valley in the heart of the Ruiterbos district, these quaint, well equipped and cosy farm cottages with welcoming fireplaces are only 35km from Mossel Bay.
Enjoy nature, the lush surroundings, rivers, dams, hills, domestic animals. Walk in the sun, pick flowers, chase butterflies with the kids and listen to the chirping of birds in the trees.
"Sunflower" Cottage is our little gem, it has 2 bedrooms, one double, and one twin. A lovely bathroom with bath and shower. The large airy, light and fresh lounge shares the space with an open plan very well equipped kitchen with dining area. There is a huge patio with large braai and outside area. The garden in Sunflower is magnificent, it is the perfect romantic, private getaway with that special person, or your special family and friends. We provide all linen, towels and bathroom + kitchen consumables. The Cottage is fully fenced - making it both pet and kid friendly. There is a jungle gym play area for the kids. Please bring dog beds, Please pick up doggie poo :) There is WIFI in the cottage -and you are never affected by loadshedding !
Area Information:Blommekloof is a picturesque and lush 16ha farm situated along the less-traveled Robinson Pass, with 1 x pet friendly / kid friendly / planet friendly cottage. Perfect for day trips to all the surrounding areas. We are very central. Alternatively bring the dog, the mountain bike and the fishing rod, a few good books, a bottle of wine and just ground yourself and soak in the magic starry nights and the wonderful bird life. We also welcome Digital Nomads as there is 24 hour WIFI and what better environment to work in !!!!
Property Facilities:All 3 of our dams are stocked with fish and you are welcome to bring a rod and reel and try your luck! (catch and release only).
Mountain biking is big in the area, and there are plenty of farm roads to bike, hike, run or walk the dog. Bring a li-lo and hang out on the dam, we don't have a pool but there are 3 dams to swim in if you wish.
There's also a lovely big braai area at the cottage, stocked with all the firewood you could hope to burn.
For the kids there is a jungle gym play area down next to middle dam and the sheep camp. There are 2 donkeys and 4 horses who would love some carrots or apples too ! Fresh farm eggs are provided when you arrive and you are welcome to purchase more if you wish. In the cottage you will find the description and route to a beautiful hike on the property - which has quite a few red data list plants on the way.
Spring flowers, mountain biking, fishing, farm animals, bird watching, stargazing, swimming, walking, rock art, art gallery, horse riding, quad bikes, horse carriage rides, ostrich farms, surfing at Victoria Bay or just chilling and baking muffins!
With the murmurings of the roosting bird life settling in, the hooo-hooo of the night owls, and the gentle croaking of the frogs to welcoming the evening, a relaxing sundowner can be enjoyed around the braai on the cottage stoep.
Traditional farm buildings spread across rolling green hills dotted with arum lilies, amazing bird life, three dams to take a dip in or try your luck at hooking a bass (catch and release). Fresh farm eggs are provided when you arrive and feel free to purchase some more. There are so many things to do in the area, Friday night burgers up the road, wonderful wines at Jakkalsvlei, hand crafted Gin from Harmony or head on over to our friendly neighbours at Lions Creek Gin Distillery ! 8 Bells hotel is just around the corner for the best Sunday lunches ever ! or tea and magnificent scones ! The Ruiterbos lodge has a friendly pub, and tasty menu, they also do a Sunday special, situated on the property is the Butterly farm and breeding centre. Then of course there is the Outeniqua Game farm with their Pensioner specials, their Rugby specials, their Sunday specials, and plenty on the menu any day of the week.
