What a stunning place. Dinner and breakfast were out of this world 5 star. The Rooms are modern and had everything for self catering. But I would recommend the Dinner and breakfast. Beautiful lawns garden and buildings. We were attended to by friendly and professional staff. Thank you Chris you were a wonderful host and an asset to the business you made us feel at home and special. Would recommend you any day.
Amazing place, my highlight was the fantastic food and the outside shower. Everything was perfect. If you going to do any activities just plan before hand so that the necessary arrangements can be done, some activities you have to make arrangements two weeks before. I found the place to be very affordable for the level of service that we got. My partner and I we have this game of "who did it better", We explore recreational facilities or places and whoever picks the best one is the winner (the prize is you get to gloat), in this case I'm the winner and De Oude kraal helped me set the bar very high. My partner is obsessed with the spa facilities and the food, he usually doesn't eat much but this time he was eating the whole time, when we went for the fine dining he was full he said he doesn't mind just looking at the food as the presentation was amazing.
My friends also had a lot of fun, they really enjoyed the shooting. The place accommodates groups very well. Hot air balloon ride was one of the activities we were interested in but unfortunately we didn't plan well in advance as you need to make arrangements.
I enjoyed the fire place in the room, that created a different but nice atmosphere. The rooms were like these fancy hotels in the city but there were certain elements that still made you feel close to nature, there are two showers indoors and outdoors, the outdoor shower was crazy amazing almost like u showering under a water fall with trees around.
Special recognition to the guy at the spar who welcomed us and explained everything, his energy was just amazing and made us feel very welcome and that's very important if you there whole day.
I appreciated that there was like a fist aid kit with medication in it, that come in handy.
Thank you to the manager for also taking care of us and making sure that we get everything we need.
A really fantastic stop over and one that we will always remember. Fabulous setting, great food and superb staff.

This is a hidden gem just outside Bloemfontein. Set in tranquil countryside, it would be the perfect place for a quick getaway.This was our overnight stop on our way to Cape Town; next time we will stay for longer. Fine dining at it's best; the food was absolutely superb. Rooms are comfortable, with enormous comfy beds and a private verandah for morning tea. Highly recommended.
Even the standard rooms are very comfortable and the dinner (to be prebooked) is excellent. Also such a great breakfast buffet is a rare find. Excellent country living.
As before, a great stay in a near perfect environment, very comfortable and relaxed. It is an ideal place to unwind. It is especially good for foodies. The highlight of our stay was the five course meal.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hosts organised a braai evening since many of their guests were attending the rugby test in Bloemfontein, which was very thoughtful and sets the scene for what visitors can expect. So all round I would rate them 4 stars to 5 stars.
