Owners Lourens Sr. & Sonja Jooste find themselves nestled deep in the heart of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Only 8 km from the Kruger National Park and 10 km from the Gonarezhou National Park, Dumela Wilderness Safaris is situated in the Limpopo Transfrontier Park on the main road to Mapai.
With 2km Limpopo river frontage, and with the Mugano lagoon stretching through the property, wildlife such as Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Hippo, Crocodile, Kudu, Bushbuck and Nyala can be spotted regularly. As for the birdlife, the Pafuri area is the best known area in Southern Africa. With more than 450 species, guests can expect to see the Pel’s Fishing Owl, and many other rare species.
Most importantly, due to the remote location, Lourens & Sonja decided to dedicate their lives to the people of Pafuri. Therefore, guests who visit Dumela Wilderness Safaris are supporting a far greater cause, than just a special camp.
